Pinots We Tasted This Week

Pinots We Tasted This Week

80 Pinots in 80 Days is well and truly under way at Meat Fish Wine, with our Pinot Pass holders into week 3 of wine tasting.
As part of 80 Pinots in 80 days, Pinot Pass holders will be tasting wines from local winemakers we love in the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula and further afield, from France, Italy, U.S.A, Chile, Germany and New Zealand, until July the 30th,
Here’s what we were drinking this week:

Monday 16th – Dal Zotto Pinot Grigio
From a well known and loved winemaking family hailing from the King Valley, comes a great example of Grigio – in the Gris vs Grigio debate. Fresh and clean, with a lovely lively green apple and pear character.

Tuesday 17th – Chain of Fire Pinot Noir
Chain of Fire refers to extinct volcanoes, and the accompanying rich volcanic soils with which they can be found around. Providing lovely fresh fruit characters, with minimal oak impact, this multi-regional Pinot Noir from Victoria provides a great showcase of volcanic soil types.

Wednesday 18th – Barefoot Wine Sparkling Pinot Grigio
Not quite the usual expression of Pinot Grigio, but showcases the versatility of the grape! Clean, fresh and lovely acidity with fresh and clean flavours. Easy drinking bubbles that’s very moreish.

Thursday 19th – Underground Winemakers Pinot Noir
From a philosophy and concept of not restricting themselves to a single place or region for sourcing their grapes, the team at Underground Winemakers work closely with the grape growers to be able to put forward their best product possible from the region.

It’s not too late to join the club. You can still purchase a Pinot Pass and try a host of old and new world Pinots, sure to delight the palate. Visit apeg.co/808080
