Events of All Sizes at Apples + Pears

Events of All Sizes at Apples + Pears

Not only do we like food here at Apples + Pears, but we also love events with food! Our chefs are highly passionate about their work at the restaurants, so what better way to share it with our diners than with some special events?
Here’s a recap of our two most recent events, which were both very different in style.
Modern Asian Test Kitchen
Chicken1
Our Red Spice Road Test Kitchen sold out in a matter of days, with many customers eager to see what our Head Chef, Dylan McCormack, would bring to the table.
The dinner was an intimate event held in our private dining room with a total of 22 special guests. They were treated to a unique menu, an interpretation of where Dylan sees Modern Asian cuisine heading in 2017.

Behind the scenes, Dylan was taking charge of the kitchen, demonstrating to staff how to plate the dishes. The food art was not only appreciated by dining guests, but by chefs in the kitchen too.

By the end of the night, attendees were extremely full on excellent food and matching wines. Head Chef Dylan came out to say a few words and received a large round of applause.
Pork2
This was Dylan’s first event but definitely not his last one. Sign up here to stay tuned for our upcoming events or relive the night via our Facebook album here.

Eat Street Melbourne

Several days later, our Executive Chef John McLeay headed Eat Street Melbourne at the Sofitel on Collins as ambassador.
This annual charity event supports Variety, the Children’s Charity, a not-for-profit empowering disadvantaged and sick children with equipment, programs and experiences.

We were proud to have John as Ambassador supporting the event with what he does best – food (and a special dinner as a raffle prize). The event featured many big names serving small dishes to sample the best of each restaurant’s cuisine, including Coda, Cumulus Inc., The Point and more.

We served a variation of our signature pork belly with nashi puree as well as bite size dishes from the Burma Lane menu. The word of our pork belly spread throughout the room, our line grew longer and longer and we sold out of food.
We’re glad everyone kept coming back for more and even Channel 10 weatherman Mike Larkan came to sample some bites.
